Controversies
In 2012, then-Congressman Naveen Jindal accused him of trying to extort 100 million rupees in ads for his company in exchange for publishing stories linking Jindal’s group to Coalgate. Later, Chaudhary and Zee Business editor Sameer Ahluwalia were arrested and sent to Tihar Jail.
In December 2016, the police hired Sudhir Chaudhary, Zee News reporter in West Bengal, and photographer Tanmay Mukherjee to cover the riots in Dhulagarh. They are registered under IPC Section 153A (promoting hostility between different groups on the basis of religion, caste, creed, language, or place of birth.
In May 2020, F.I.R. Under Section 295A of IPC against Chaudhary at Kozhikode Kasaba Police Station in Kerala state for harming the religious sentiments of the Muslim community in his program broadcast on Zee News on March 11, 2020. In the show, Chaudhary allegedly targeted Muslims of the country through a “jihad scheme” which He used in an effort to create religious tensions between different communities.
