Melanie Comarcho was born in Chicago and raised in Inglewood, California. After high school, she entered the military, and once honorably demobilized, she returned home. Melanie worked as an assembler/technician at Hughes Aircraft Co. in El Segundo, California. Soon after, she married and had two daughters.
Shortly after entering comedy in a challenge, the producers of Def Comedy Jam saw her. Melanie was fired from her job at Hughes Aircraft the day she recorded her first Def Comedy Jam.
She then went on a Def Comedy Jam tour and won the Soul Train Comedy Awards that year. She has a style that draws the attention of others and a woman’s point of view.
Melanie has been the opening act on some of the most popular tours in the country including Chris Tucker, Maxwell, Martin Lawrence, and Katt Williams.
