Darwin Deason was born in 1940 in Arkansas, US State.
He had a difficult childhood as a farm boy and left his small town after high school. After leaving Arkansas with just $50 and a 1949 Pontiac, Deason arrived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, which was the big city with bright lights for the small-town farm boy. In Tulsa, he joined Gulf Oil. Later, he left Gulf Oil for MTech, an IT company in Dallas.
He lives with his wife Katerina Deason in an 18,000-square-foot penthouse in Dallas, the penthouse occupies the top 2 floors of a high-rise building. He also owns a large home near a golf course in Palm Desert, California. And he bought a penthouse in Miami Beach.
A very ambitious and hard-working Darwin, he became the CEO of MTech at the age of 29. However, he sold the company in 1988. After a while, he founded Affiliated Computer Services only that year. ACS has managed IT and other business processing services for prominent clients such as E-ZPass. It became one of the first companies to outsource official work abroad, outside of the United States.
In 1994, the company went public. Deason retired as CEO of ACS in 1999 but continued to serve as chairman. In 2007, Mr. Deason attempted to acquire control of Affiliated Computer Services with the help of Cerberus Capital Management. However, the deal turned out to be a futile attempt.
A few years later, Deason negotiated a contract to sell Affiliated Computer Services to Xerox. Although initially, it had some problems with the shareholders, the sale was carried out successfully the following year. ACS was sold to Xerox Business Services for $6.4 billion.
Darwin has been married five times. His fifth wife, Katerina, is 27 years his junior. These days, the pair spends their time in San Diego, Dallas and their wonderful 205-foot yacht “Apogee”. Deason is the father of 3 children.
