Ashrita Vemuganti has worked in the Tollywood entertainment industry and her work has been published in movies and web series in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.
After her song Kanna Nidurinchara with actor Anushka Shetty for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion that hit theaters in 2017, everyone sat down and noticed Ashrita Vemuganti Nanduri. They even said that she stole the thunder from Anushka’s nose with her amazing “haava bhaavalu”.
Ashrita was initiated into Bharatanatyam by Guru Priya Kartikeyan and later received advanced training from Guru Rajeswari Sainath. In Sruthi Laya Kendra Natarajaalaya, she was part of his guru’s troop who traveled to many cities.
Ashrita enrolled in the Kuchipudi Art Academy in 2011 and has played many key roles in the ballets of the legendary Guru Sri Vempati Chinna Satyam Garu. During her master’s degree in Bharatanatyam at Madras University, Ashrita had the rare opportunity to participate in workshops taught by many prominent dance and music gurus in Chennai.
Her solo performances of hers in Vijayawada were organized by the Ramineni Foundation, Narada Gana Sabha, Parthasarathy Sabha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (Chennai), and Saraswathi Gana Sabha (Kakinada) were highly appreciated. Even her performances at the Temple of Fine Arts (Malaysia) and by associations such as TANA, BATA & temples in Chicago, Washington, Orlando, California (United States) received much applause.
Dancer Bharatanatyam was honored with Tyagaraa Gana Sabha’s Ugaadi Yuva Puraskar (2013), and her Tedx talk of her at NIT Surathkal (2018) left audiences fascinated. She also received the Women Achiever’s Award in Rajahmundry. From an educational point of view, Ashrita completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in performing arts. She earned a gold medal in her PG from Madras University.
In 2013, Ashrita made a foray into television as a presenter and directed two cultural documentaries with Kala Tapaswi Dr. K. Viswanath garu. The broadcast of her on an electronic channel, titled “Matru Devo Bhava”, which debuted in April 2020, is among the most-watched programs. On the celluloid front, Ashrita has appeared in such films as Kurukshetra (Kannada, 2017), Yatra (Telugu, 2019), and Dear Comrade (Multilingual, 2019). Eventually, she was seen in the title role of Ravi Teja, Krack.
